As we enter the winter season, we are also entering the season of colds and flu. And germs like warm and moist places. It’s no secret that cold, flu and other viruses are more common in the winter.

Germs can be found almost anywhere. While you may not be able to manage your germ exposure on the train, bus, or at work, you can do so at home in your bathroom! In this blog, we’ll offer some of our best recommendations for keeping your house germ-free.

Maintain a Damp-Free Washroom

The collected moisture causes the walls of your bathroom to be wet. Keep a daily cleaning program for the walls, bathroom sink faucets and fixtures. Clean your restrooms with disinfectant and then freshen them up with room freshener.

Make Sure your Bathroom is Well Ventilated.

You’ll need to keep an eye on things from time to time. Keep the exhaust on for a while and open the doors and windows for ventilation if the washroom smells if there is moisture gathered, or even after every use of the washroom.

Keep the Drawers in the Bathroom Fresh

The dust and dampness that has gathered in the corners of bathroom drawers or shelves can also cause them to smell. Make these corners smell fresh by using naphthalene or camphor. Camphor and naphthalene absorb moisture as well. You may also put a plant in your bathroom to provide some freshness.

Keep your Filthy Clothes Out of the House.

Avoid hanging used or damp garments on the hook or on the towel rack in the bathroom. It not only adds moisture, but it also begins to smell.

Keep Bugs Out of Your Bathroom

Install a mesh or netted cover on your bathroom windows to prevent undesirable insects and pests from entering during the winter and to preserve bathroom hygiene.
